WOW... What an interesting article. As a gang intelligence officer, I am now tempted to look more closely at the facial features and lineage of offenders, rather than their tatoos and literature. I wonder how many offenders are really crossing over in order to fit in and conceal who they really are. I am not compelled to feel any sympathy for Mr. Felton, after all, he is still a common criminal who had choices. Rather than taking the road he took, he could have gone in so many other directions and as intelligent as he seems to be, he could have help many other "beige" people along the way. His lineage was never fractured (both parents were human, I presume), only his way of thinking. If I read correctly, his father was on his side through much of his youth. He never stopped to consider that. I work in the prison invironment that he lives in and although there is a big difference, it is really easy to get an eskewed view of humanity. But what one has to keep in mind is the fact that the vast and overwhelming majority of people in jail be it black, white or anything in between have one thing in common. THEY ARE ALL GUILTY! So it is always odd and fascinating to me to see offenders align themselves to form group with one another based on anything to include skin color. After all, who can you really trust? A thief will steal from a thief, a murderer will still kill a murderer and there will always be one rat that will rat out the whole pack of vermin. I do not see the survival in that.

I do not believe that one race is inferior to another. I do not understand why people feel that their race is superior to another. Everyone is equal. There should not be a racial classification, but just the fact we are all human beings and God's children. After reading about Leo, I have more understanding how a person could hate someone based on the color of their skin. I still do not agree with his ideas, but I have some empathy for him. He did have a hard and troubled life, but he still should have not let himself become so hateful. I know that many White Power people are brought up in these outragous ideas, but one should know right from wrong. It's sad that so many peole have died for this cause and the world still has people believing one race is superior to another. This article was very mind opening. I feel bad for Leo and others like him. Hopefully one day the world can correct all the unrational ideas, but until then we all have to try and educated others in how harmful these ideas can be.

talk about the irony. this man did the exact opposite of what he was trying to do. trying to build a wall of hatred against non-white people and ended up knocking down one. this has got to be a reality check out of this world. he probably felt relief when he found out that his wife didn't hate him after finding out he's half black but also felt like a failure when he found out that she isn't totally against racial mixing because of him. also referring to their marriage as race mixing just confirms his black existance. what a fool. i can understand trying to pass for white, but to go out of your way with the book clubs and meetings and reports. he went further then the average skinhead of all white blood wouldve went. the people he loved so much, and the people he looked up to as in hitler would have sent him to the gas chamber or wouldve been lynched hear in good old america, they would have probably did him worse then the average black due to him lying and passing and marrying one of thier own. as some would like to think he could change and grow from this and his wife has changed, unfortunately he will harbor this hatred of himself and his own kind no matter how irrational it is until he leaves this earth and chase may have seen things a bit differently but when comes down to it she is still a white supremises that just inadvertantly fell in love with a lying mulatto.

Well, this is one of the most interesting situations that I have come across in a long time. I happened to look at "American History X and decided to lookup related topics on the Internet. This is where I found Leo Felton's story. I see this situation as the fault of the History of Our Government using race as a priority to identify people.(Cause and Effect) Everything is propaganda to divide the people of our Country, not the whiteman's country, but the American People's Country. It is very clear to me that Leo Felton is a victim of this whiteman's propaganda. Another example of confusion is Jesus was a Jew so how do the white hate groups explain that. Hate is a bad thing!!! For any race of people. Like good and bad which is not the same as black and white but wrong and right. Leo Felton just repent for your sins and ask God through His Son Jesus Christ to lead and guide you through to a victory with life. Defind the word human, that is what all races are humans who are victims of propaganda of their Governmental leadership in the covert and often overt process of communication. Find yourself just as we all (humans) have too before that final day of judgement. With love form your brother in Christ Michael Lynn Fergins

i saw this story and decided to look up the background of this. leo felton is a lost soul and i hope that the next 21 years in prison does him some good. i believe that a man in prison is a man who needs to find allies to stay alive. prison is place that breeds hatred and the survival of the fittest is what is kept in mind. a person going into prison regardless of who they are, has to cling to something in order to survive the horrors of what goes on there. leo having been a product of divorce, living with a mother who is a lesbian and not having a strong relationship with his black father, put him in a very confused state of mind. i am not going to take the easy route out and blame his parents..because God only knows what issues they themselves have. i can only speak from a prospective of a multicultrual person, mother and a parent of a multiracial child. i intend to give my child and future children all the tools to be strong in the world. i want them to know that loving yourself is the first step to happiness. being teased as kids does not mean one will turn out to be the typical tragic mulatoo. that is myth that americans have perpetrated for hundreds of years. look at the brazilians, cubans, polynesians, puetro ricans etc, who are derived from various racial make up. you don't see them running around killing people who aren't mixed. this mainly an american problem because america has bred a whole generation of hate and hate mongers. things need to change starting in the homes, schools, prisons, workforce etc...to stop people like leo felton from becoming sorry individuals. i hope his parents are evaluating their role in his actions.
parents have to put the needs of children's first.
if his parents spent half the time on him, like they did for the civil righst cause, he might have been a different person. GOD FORGIVE THEM ALL
AS THEIR IS A LOT OF LOVE AND HEALING THAT NEEDS TO TAKE PLACE.

well, Im not a racist man but Im very interested about the ways of the thoughts of the man, and that case caught my attention.. you can take him as a symply son of a bitch (easy way) or as a man who, right or wrong, defenses his convictions (I repeat: right or wrong) till the end. That fact is something that I respect. thanks.

All I can say is WOW! I never thought I'd run into a site, such as this. Opinions that are highly regarded and evaluated are put at a level of understanding that anyone with an open mind can appreciate at face value. This is how it is, and everyone can accept it or find a way to live with it. Anyone with an open-mind will be able to relate and appreciate this type of journalism. The story of Leo Felton was assuring in a manner that confirms your past will catch up to you, "to your own self be true". I agree with the concept of race being an individual idea, it gives cause to many of peoples behavior. I don't like using my race card, it's like crying after losing an argument, and that is shameful and unnecessary to me. Taking responsibility of your own actions shows strength and character, someone that acknowledges that he/she has choices in life and takes them, along with the good and bad and doesn't cower behind their race card. Your site, so far, has allowed me to see all the sides, Thank you!

While I cannot deny race was an issue in this man's life, it seems his own fears and radical upbringing by his own immoral mother certainly added to his woes.

If his father and mother stayed togethor, he would have been raised by two loving parents, regardless of their race.

As to his transformation into white supremacy, I wonder if that was an action more designed to stay alive in prison than to just belong to a 'group'. There are black gangs and there are white gangs and there are hispanic gangs, and if you are not associated with someone, you are a target for any of them.
