Another Police Killing in Cincinnati

by Kendall Clark

According to reports, another African American man in Cincinnati has died as a result of an altercation with police, an altercation which was videotaped. Nathaniel Jones, 41 years old, appears to have been beaten by six police officers during a struggle. Jones was being treated by medical personnel, and when he regained consciousness he became, according to a CNN report, “a nuisance”; after police arrived there was a struggle between police and Jones. “Officers say the 350-pound Jones”, the CNN report says, “lunged at them, ignoring their orders and resisting efforts to handcuff him. The tape shows police repeatedly striking Jones with their batons.”

Officers eventually subdued Jones; he was transported to the hospital and died within minutes.

There is something deeply wrong in Cincinnati. In 2001, after a police killing, there were riots for 3 days — one of the most blatant acts of national media self-censorship in recent years, this enormously important story received little attention.

Cincinnati has serious problems with structural racism, poverty and neglect, and proud, stubborn privilege. People do not riot for fun or for their good health. It takes a persistent sense of injustice, grievance, and futility for people to riot, and it should always be cause for concern and greater attention to underlying facts, patterns of fact, and structural features of the situation.

It isn’t yet clear what caused the death of Nathaniel Jones. But one thing is clear: police officers don’t respond in the same way to aberrant social behavior on the part of whites and blacks. Jones was clearly having some kind of medical emergency, and his having awakened and become belligerent seems the kind of aberrant social behavior which police can either escalate or de-escalate. One has to assume, given the history of racism in Cincinnati, particularly on the part of the police force, that the police, at best, reacted very poorly.

I’m sure eventually we’ll hear that the officers “acted in a way consistent with preserving their safety”, but Jones was not a suspect in any crime, had not violated any laws, as far as anyone knows, and, as a recepient of medical attention, does not seem to have posed a real threat to police. People of color and the poor suffer a great deal of abuse, indignity, and harm at the hands of (mostly white) police who are “acting in a way consistent with preserving their safety”.

Something’s got to change in Cincinnati, and it better change soon.

White individuals who displayed the same circustances as this case, would be treated in like manner;however it would not be so widely (reported)The suspect was:350lbs.,was in a pcp rage, did not comply with police, was grabbing for an officers gun.If anything the police acted with restraint.

  2. Steve Glanville Says:

Where are all the dead white medical recipients? I constantly hear that under the same circumstances a white individual would be treated the same, yet I never see evidence of that. What are there no 350lb white men are there no white (supposed) drug users. The majority of police-community interactions in this country consist of a Police interacting with “whites”, yet there are a miniscule number of violent confrontations that end in serious injury or death. Go to the department of justice and get the figures yourself or you can look up any number of studies, that show “black” people are far more likely to end up injured or dead then “whites”. If you still think there’s a problem with reporting, then maybe you should start a web site to highlight injustices.

Mr Stevens you can use that arguement when the “whites” die in the same rate in proportion to their population as “blacks”.

  3. Heath Says:

“Jones was clearly having some kind of medical emergency”

    Yes, he was on drugs.

By the way he wasn’t beaten by six cops, only by two. The video was shown on the news last night. Not that that makes a difference, but you should still try to get your facts straight. He kept going for the officers’ guns, so they kept hitting him. He should have stayed down.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the officers acted completely within the law. They have a right (actually a duty even) to hit someone if he tries to grab their gun.

The fact that this man was black and the officers white couldn’t possibly be less relevent. I think it is you who is racist for constantly bringing race into everything. You are what is called a “reverse racist”, someone who constantly bends over backwards for those he perceives are victims of racism, but the fact that he does not treat them equally proves that he doesn’t consider them equal to whites.

  4. KEITH BROADNAX Says:

IT IS SAD THAT IN 2003, WE AS A COUNTRY STILL FACE RACIAL PROBLEMS LIKE THIS. I AM FROM PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MARYLAND. SOME OF YOU ALL MIGHT NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MY COUNTY BUT IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE WEALTHIEST PREDOMINATELY BLACK COUNTY IN THE NATION. WE LIKE CINCINNATI, CONTINUE TO FACE RACIAL PROBLEM ALTHOUGH OUR COUNTY’S POPULATION IS QUITE DIFFERENT. MOST OF OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND POLICE OFFICERS ARE BLACK BUT WE STILL HAVE THE SAME RACIAL TENSION AND PROBLEMS AS SO MANY OTHER LARGE COUNTIES. MANY ARTICLES HAS BEEN PRINTED IN THE WASHINGTON POST OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS OF NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS OF POLICE MISCONDUCT IN PRICE GEORGE’S COUNTY.
THEY HAVE ALSO BEEN LABELED AS THE WORST POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE COUNTRY WHEN IT COMES TO POLICE BRUTALITY. I CAN SPEAK UPON MY OWN ACCOUNTS OF SUCH HOSTILE BEHAVIOR DISPLAYED BY MANY OF THEM, BLACK AND WHITE. WHEN THINGS GO ON LIKE THAT IN OUR NATION WE SHOULD FIRST WONDER WHY AND THEN PROCEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SAME SITUATION SHOULD NOT REPEAT. I BELIEVE IN THE TERM WHITE PRIVILEGE. I BELIEVE THAT THE ROOT OF WHITE PRIVILEGE AND/ OR WHITE SUPREMACY BEGINS WITH THE MORALS AND VALUES OF YESTERDAY’S SOCIETY BEING TAUGHT TO THE INHABITANTS OF TODAY’S SOCIETY. IT STEMS FROM THE LIES AND FERRY TALES TAUGHT IN THE HISTORY BOOKS OF OUR CHILDREN. IT ALSO STEMS FROM THE CORRUPTION OF CAPITALISM ALLOWED BY THE
AMERICAN GOVERNMENT. I FEEL THAT WHITE SUPREMACIST WANT BLACKS TO BE AND TO CONTINUE BEING THE BIRDER-BEARERS OF AMERICA. I FEEL THAT
THE WHITE SUPREMACIST OF TODAY WANT TO OWN A SLAVE LIKE THEIR FOREFATHERS DID. POLICE BRUTALITY IS A WAY THAT THEY CAN KEEP THE
UPPER HAND. IT COMMONLY HAPPENS TO MINORITIES BUT RARELY TO THE MAJORITY. PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY IS A PART OF THE WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA. IT IS SAD HOW I TRAVEL IN AND OUT OF THE NATION’S CAPITOL ALONG THE EASTSIDE OF THE ANACOSTIA RIVER AND SEE THE POVERTY PLEGING THE MINORTIES THERE. THE VIOLENT CRIME RATE AND ILLEGAL DRUG PROBLEM IS RIDICULOUS. HOW CAN THIS BE? CAN ANYONE TELL ME, HOW CAN WE HAVE SUCH A PROBLEM IN THE WORLD’S MOST POWERFUL CITY? WHY AREN’T THE MASSES OF PEOPLE AWARE OF THESE PROBLEMS? WHY ARE THEY SWEPT UNDER THE RUG? HOW ABOUT THIS, THE NEXT TIME YOU VISIT WASHINGTON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA, RIDE THE METRO AND VISIT; N.EAST, S.EAST, AND PG COUNTY. THEN RIDE IT TO N.WEST, S.WEST, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, AND NORTHERN VIRGINA. YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE. WE AS HUMAN BEINGS NEED TO TAKE THE TRUTH FOR WHAT IT IS AND FIND A WAY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

  5. Jim Says:

You say he comitted no crime? So where did the cocaine and PCP that was in his system come from?
Apparently, you missed the footage on National Media outlets that clearly showed him lunging at the Police Officer, which also happens to be a crime.
You need to stop lying about what happened to further your agenda and what is more, the only thing more dangerous to a black man isn’t a white Police Officer, it’s ANOTHER black man.

  6. Jesse Jackson Says:

Keith, heard any good “Ferry Tales” lately. Maybe you should listen to yourself. You’re an idiot. I’ve been to Cinci many times. Not once did I take a swing at a cop, and not coincidentally, I have never been clubbed by a cop. Maybe that is the link, and it is not a black and white issue. If less black men were committing crimes, less black men would have confrontations with cops. If this was straight racism, why are no black women being killed? Steve, your last comment struck me as wildly stupid. So Ron can only argue his point when white men quit their jobs, join gangs, sell drugs, and start killing each other at record rates. Only when more white people die can Ron make a point. White people are killed by cops, you just don’t hear about it because there aren’t any prominent white race baiters willing to publicly defend violent criminals.

  7. KEITH BROADNAX Says:

HEY JESSE JACKSON, NO I HAVEN’T HEARD ANY GREAT “FERRY TALES” LATELY. I HAVE DAMN NEAR HEARD THEM ALL. IT IS THE SAME OLD SITUATION TIME-AFTER-TIME, JUST LIKE THE SAME OLD BIGOT TIME-AFTER-TIME, RIGHT BUDDY. YOU ARE THE TRUE IDIOT PAL, NOT ME. YOU ARE THE RACIST THAT WOULD COMMIT ACTS OF BRUTALITY AGAINST MINORITIES IF YOU WERE A POLICE OFFICER. HOW I KNOW THIS, IS BY THE FEELINGS THAT YOU DISPLAYED ABOUT BLACKS IN YOUR COMMENT TO ME. TELL ME BUDDY, ARE YOU BLACK OR WHITE AND ARE YOU RICH, MIDDLE-CLASS OR POOR? I’M PRETTY SURE THAT YOU ARE A WHITE MIDDLE-CLASS MAN, HUH BUDDY. JUST LIKE I’M SURE THAT YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN CLUBBED BY THE POLICE OR TALKED TO IN A HOSTILE MANNER. I HAVEN’T TAKEN A SWING AT AN OFFICER EITHER BUT I HAVE DEFFINATELY HAD MY LIFE THREATEN BY A COUPLE OF THEM. SEE POLICE CORRUPTION IS VERY COMMON WHERE I AM FROM. REMEMBER, MY AREA IS ALL GOVERNMENT (WASH, DC METRO AREA) AND THE SAME OLD PROBLEM REOCCURS TIME AFTER TIME. PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE VERY ONE-SIDED AND CLOSED-MINDED TO THE PAIN OF OTHERS. PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE SELFISH AND SELF OREINTATED, NEVER CONCERNED WITH THE FACT THAT YOUR RACE IS FAR FROM INNOCENT. THE BLACK RACE ISN’T INNOCENT EITHER BUT WE HAVE EXPERIENCE PAIN THAT YOU CAN ONLY IMAGINE. PAIN AFFLICTED BY WHITE PEOPLE WHO THINKS JUST LIKE YOU. BLACKS ARE COMMITTING CRIMES JUST LIKE WHITES ARE. BLACKS AND WHITES ARE COMMITING CRIMES AT THE SAME RATE. WHITES ARE PROSECUTED TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM BLACKS. BLACKS RECIEVE MORE TIME THAN WHITES FOR COMMITTING SIMULAR CRIMES. CHECK THE NUMBERS PAL, YOU KNOW I’M RIGHT. YOU ALSO KNOW THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MORE BLACK MALES MURDERED BY THE POLICE RATHER THAN WHITE MALES. AND IN REFERENCE TO BLACK FEMALES NOT BEING KILLED, ONE WAS SHOOT AND KILLED BY A DC OFFICER THIS YEAR IN SOUTHEAST WASH. SHE WAS UNARMED. GET REAL BUDDY! BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH, BROADEN YOUR HORIZON AND CONSIDER THINKING OUTSIDE OF THE “LITTLE WHITE BOX.” SEE, I DON’T DISLIKE WHITE PEOPLE BUT I DO DISLIKE HOW SOME OF YOU ALL THINK. JUST BECAUSE YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN RAISED A CERTAIN WAY (COPOUT) DOESN’T MEAN THAT YOU HAVE TO REMAIN THAT WAY. TELL ME PAL, WOULD YOU LET ME EAT AT YOUR TABLE? I REST MY CASE.

  8. Jackson Says:

From a investigative perspective, I have one big question about the manner in which this story has been handled by the news outlets and the Cincy police dept. It was reported within hours of the incident that the man killed by the police was high on PCP and had an enlarged heart which contributed to his cause of death instead of the beating by the police. How could the police know all of that hours after the incident when the coroner’s report didn’t come out until yesterday? Are the police both forensic experts and toxologists in addition to being a law enforcment officer? Without any tests you may be able to tell if someone is high, but you will not be able to tell they are high on PCP and have an enlarged heart. Moreover, surely the police were not commenting on the coroner’s report before it was finalized 3 days later. My initial reaction is that the preliminary information concerning his use PCP and enlarged heart was put out there as a public relations stunt to lessen the impact the video may have created in Cincy and around the country.

I’m not going to say that the man killed shouldn’t have been subdued by the police; however, I will say that most officers are trained on how to subdue someone without killing them. You are only allowed to use deadly force when you believe your life is threatened. If you have an opportunity to vacate the situation and wait for back-up, then do that in order to avoid someone being killed. I do believe the man shouldn’t have reached for the officer’s gun. Does that mean he should have been killed for that? No. Does race have anything to do with this? Yes. Whenever a white cop(s) kills a black person justifiable or not, race is always a factor. The question is whether race is the predominant factor. The answer to that question will not be easily ascertained unless the officers admit it (which will not happen) or an outside investigation is allowed to take place. Bottom line is that this man should have been arrested. However, whites really need to wake up and realize that privilege allows them to look at this incident as “isolated” and has nothing to do with race. There is a historical problem in the U.S. concerning police brutality and people of color. The issues are rooted in the fact that whites (and some people of color) believe that black lives have less value. When you operate from that premise (whether conscious or unconscious), it is easy to kill someone or accept the killing of someone who is not white. You will not be able to see the institutional racism/terrorism that has historically occurred in local, state and federal law enforcement. Since a lot of whites are blinded by their “privilege” in these situations, they cannot see or understand how race is always a factor when it comes to police brutality.

  9. Chaka Carama Says:

You know, by default, you closet racists are admitting to your belief that black men are naturally predisposed to violence. You are victims of your own forefathers’ disgusting vices; born not out of honor, advancement nor adventure; instead born primarily out of covetousness/ greed, lies & arrogance. Your forefathers had to do insane historical & literal acrobatics to promulgate the myth/ sterotype. How else can one go from the Greeks, such as Horodutus, who relunctantly admit to the origins of all civilazation and its negro creators; to 500 years ago, when the European seems to have “discovered” this previously unknown savage & spiritless negro. Henceforth, “The White Man’s Burden”, born out of Caucasian (including Arab) religious doctrine, gave cover to the aforementioned vices.

The point is this: Black men make up less than 10% of the entire US population. I’m sure you all know the totally unbalanced figures of those arrested & convicted of crimes when compared to others US Citizens. it’s not enough to just point to the figures and headlines and say “see”. Why are the figures so unbalanced? More importantly, how could this country have a policy whereas being caught with a quarter ounce of powder cocaine got you a year or so w/ probation (depending on money & race of course), and the same weight when applied to crack cocaine got you a mandatory 5 years? Why should someone have to petition to have that law changed?

To this day, the hostility towards my people continues, albeit more subtly. You are swimming in soo much priviledge, you could not even begin to see the big picture. Two mistakes your forefathers made:

    1. They allowed us to read and understand their language.

    2. They became sooo intoxicated with arrogance & eventually indifference, they forgot to keep tweeking, reinforcing and passing down the lies.

So now, insted of the “White Man’s Burden”, we have the “Angry White Man” vs. “White Guilt” competting for center stage.

Ooh…. on a side note (well actually, its an example of the lies) If the Europeans, now occupying and settling Israel are historically indigenous to that region, why are there constant sun-screen warnings, and they have the highest rates of skin cancer in the world along with the Southern US, S. Africa & Austrailia? Ha Ha..Is there a pattern there or what?

  10. Christopher Warner Says:

Part of the problem, infact, the biggest part of the problem is that police officers feel justified in being disrespectful and turning a small situation into something big. It’s simply uncalled for.

From looking at the tape one has to wonder what comment or comments were made to get Jones to just lunge at an officer. If it was simply because he was high on pcp and cocaine then the appropriate situation is to restrain and subdue him. Beating a 350lb man with a baton will do nothing but anger him more, especially if he’s bigger than you. That’s just common sense; In those situations thats where it comes in handy. Could the situation have been handled differently? Yes. If it was a white man would the situation have been handled differently? Can you honestly say no? I don’t justify Jones behavior but when 2 police officers are beating a suspect repeatedly with batons and they can’t control the situation there is an obvious problem. All the excuses about “if it was you”, “you don’t have time to think” etc don’t apply to people with firearms trained for exactly such situations. They are trained and are held to standards that should prevent situations as such to even be debatable.

Police Officers today need alot of training in the “serve and protect” department. With that comes a common courtesy that you afford to every man you meet. Whether it be a simple hello, or a calm head to make a situation that’s already a problem, less there of. Without that you get people who could care less if a cop is killed, more crime and officers with attitudes that push the people aside for their own benefit.

At the end of the day, this common courtesy isn’t afforded to minorities. Which simply makes a ticket offense, a night in jail or a fine a bigger situation. Also, no one ever takes into account situations that might have led up to this point. IE: Cops commiting illegal infractions against Jones and other parties; eventually the end result being a situation or “the breaking point”. To clarify when I say infractions I mean seizing and searching a party without due process, “putting someone through the system” for not giving them information on some other suspect etc etc. All that adds up and the community learns to distrust and loathe cops in every form and fashion. The good cops eventually go the wrong route and the cycle continues.

It can eventually go one of two ways. The people get upset enough that there is a “breaking point” and everyone riots. Or the police officers can extend common courtesy even at the expense of not receiving any in return. How many people here have been pulled over for a speeding ticket and have been greeted by a cordial “How you doing tonight sir? Yeah you were speeding back there.. 75 in a 50.. Can I see your License and Registration please?” Actually, how many black persons here have simply been afforded that courtesy? Upholding the law doesn’t mean be an asshole, it doesn’t make you soft to say whatsup to the dude on the street. The job is to serve and protect; the people.

As for everything else, personally, I disagree with rioting as even though it’s a cry for help it destroys the soul of a community afterwards. Especially, rioting in your own community. As for the police officers that push to the breaking point my views are extremely biased for the simple reasons that I’m on their hit list and their on mine. However, removing myself from the situation I can see a solution. So the situation is a very clear and concise one that can be addressed.

Sadly, I believe that these type of environments breed hatred and militant attitudes that will only take life on both sides of the issue. Including probably my own.

  11. cop killer Says:

FUck the police. They are as racist as the KKK. They kill innocent blacks. you think they would do that shit to white people. they dont give a fuck bout who they kill

  12. Anthony Says:

My biggest comment on this is when I watched the news, a black woman police officer, who is part of an organization against police brutality was aired along with the Mayor of Cincinnati. This black police officer asked the mayor, “There is one minute and forty seconds missing from the beginning of the tape, and I would like to know what’s in that missing minute.” The mayor never answered that, he only put other issues up, saying, “I feel that you are condeming the police”, after the woman police officer said she’s not condemning them.

I’m wondering, if there is missing video footage, and I will find out myself if there is such one.

Situations like this are obviously subconsciously racist, or deliberate racism. A white 350 pound man would never get beaten, like Nathaniel Jones has been.

Where do drugs like this come from? They come from directly from the CIA, or even brewed in the United States itself. We know it’s certain that it’s racism and the misinterpretation of educating ourselves of the white privilege. It makes whites further ignorant about what we truly teach, and any whites who understand their privilege are “people of conscious.”

This idea of “reverse racism” isn’t the case of this. This “reverse racism” is yet another way to disrupt the true ways of learning, and knowing the truth.

The reason why there are less women of color are getting shot is because the ideal of bad people are usually the genders of “strong.” Usually a black male would seem menacing, and usually the thought of a “gansta” black male would scare the society in the States. And this black male possesed an alternate body image, which makes him look scarier than the “regualar” thin males.

It comes to the point that everyone becomes and supports the system fully. There are cases where police slam black kids on the cars, even with video proof, and go free. There are cases where police even steal milk from groceries, and drink it in the store, and leave, that cop got a one day suspension with pay.

No matter what kind of cops, they’re part of the system, some are there to stop the police brutality that exists.

They do have the autopsy reports saying that he was high on cocaine, and had a large heart, but the beatings weren’t the reason for the death. But we will only know the truth when we have independent autopsy reasearchers give the true information. Coincedentally this 350 pound black man died, after a brutal beating by police.

  13. My Comments Says:

How can you possibly argue that the police acted
improperly? They were called to the scene because the guy was too beligerent for an EMS team to deal with. It seems that the black community in Cinicinati is trying to politicize this issue for their own advantage. Sorry that the man died. But it was not the fault of the police. Anytime you attack a police officer you are putting everyone at risk.

As far as your web site I disagree with your premise. Black people are just as racist as white people. But unfortunately black racism is totally legitimate. A black person can get away with using racial ephitets. But if a white person does so its a “hate crime”.

As far as privlege goes there are plenty of privledged black people in this country. People like Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, Tiger Woods, Condoleeza Rice, and many others.

  14. Dustin Hunt Says:

This is a very important issue, and I am disgusted to see so many people using it to argue so harshly. First of all we all need to accept the fact that there IS white privilege. This is hard to accept because many people feel that in benefiting white privilege we are doing something wrong. Accepting that we have benefited from white privilege does not mean that we are frauds, nor does it mean that we have no claim to our success. My closest friend is black, and growing up I have learned that out of the two of us, I(who am white) alone can go into a store and not worry about being followed around.
After accepting that there is white privilege, we must also accept that racism is still a huge problem in this country. I honestly believe that there is a serious problem in Cincinnati, although I’ve not yet made up my mind about the most recent killing. From what we can see now, it seems that the man was attacking the police officers. If this is the case I do not think the police officers acted too inappropriately. However, if there is missing footage, there must be a reason for hiding it. The only reason I could think of hiding footage would be to hide incriminating evidence.
I would like to comment, now, on a post that I read. The post was made quite some time ago, but I was appalled! The comment mentioned that statistics show that black people commit more crimes. “Do the crime, do the time” I read. Why do you think we have statistics like these? Could it possibly be because we are only watching black people and other minorities?? What do you think hurts worse?: A minority that commits a crime such as robbery, or a white CEO that makes fraudulent papers and costs hundreds of people their jobs and hundreds more people thousands of dollars?

  15. Wei En Lin Says:

Seems like excessive force to me.

Look at the record of the city.

  16. Tia Lindsay Says:

Did police use necessary force, or is this a case of police brutality?

What should the community do about the problem of police brutality?

    - I believe that the police use to much force, that man was beaten to the ground where he was repeatly beaten over and over with no sign of getting to do anything else to those police. In the clip they want to show you how Jones hit the officer first but what provoked him to do such? The legal finding infact show that the beating was a homicide, so why isn’t nothing being done. The officers are getting away with taking a life while trying to make a everyday arrest. I also believe that the more these officers get away with theses CRIMES the more that they continue to do it. Because Ohio has let these cops and every cop before them get away with killing these black men, the struggle for it to stop will never cease.

    - I think the community should step up,they should raise they’re own money and fight the state of Ohio in getting this problem solved. The community members should encourage more of their young black men and women to become police officers. They should take the officers and get them better and more realistic training, because they are not doing a very good job in understanding different people and different races.

  17. Dustin Hunt Says:

Interesting post, Tia. I do believe that the police used too much force, there simply HAD to be a point where he was no longer a threat, but I do believe he continued to fight back for quite a while. As far as the beating being a homocide, that simply means that the man was killed by another man or in this case men. The coroner said that his finding of homocide did not mean, in any way, that the police acted wrong, it just meant that he died because of the confrontation. In any event, I still refuse to make up my mind on this situation. The police may be hiding some of the footage, and that is a serious problem. If the police did nothing wrong, then there should be nothing to hide.

  18. tanya Says:

Headline: “Anderson man, arrested 400 times, sentenced to 17 years” - finally at the age of 74! Care to guess his ethnicity. Which black man could get arrested 3x for jaywalking without serving time in jail. The link is here: http://www.indystar.com/articles/1/098085-8511-103.html

  19. Dustin Hunt Says:

I went to the link you posted, Tanya, but didn’t see anything about the man being arrested 3 times for jaywalking, nor did I see anything about his ethnicity. All I saw was a man that had been arrested for driving whith a suspended license while intoxicated.

  20. Dave Says:

What a pathetic website. All you do is whine and play the victim. To defend this guy shows how irresponsible you are. The police were justified in their use of force. You should use this as a learning experience: don’t do drugs, don’t overeat to the point of obesity and don’t attack the police. You whiners act as if the police go around looking for black men to kill. This guy is responsible for his own death. It’s a shame for his family.

  21. Chaka Charma Says:

Dave ~ ARE YOU SERIOUS? You have a very narrow view of the world. I guess it acts as a subliminal safety valve that helps you maintain and feel secure within your privilege. Its very convienent for a white person to have this view point. It allows you to confidently say STUPID things like: “Stop playing the victim and work hard, that’s how my mom and dad did it, and they came over in the early 1900’s and had nothing to do with slavery, Jim Crow.. blah blah blah..”

Question. How HARD did G.W. Bush have to work throughout his life to become the MOST powerful man in the world? Can you even picture him studying HARD for a geography test? Did your realtives come to barren wasteland, or did they arrive in a country that was already jumpstarted due to 300+ years of free labor? Did they have to build the capital without even getting the slightest in compensation? They came to paradise as far as we are concerned. To boot, the so called baby boomers (white families) are the direct result of GOVERNMENT WELFARE PROGRAMS.. GI Bill (that was useless to black GI’s), Federal HOUSING LOANS ( i won’t even go there), and skewed immigration policies that favored European immigration among other tactics.

A rising black middle class in northern cities, especially Harlem, during the 20’s was a main reason for prohibition. SOUND FAMILIAR DAVE? (any fool can get rich off of moonshine or weed for that matter) Interestingly enough, it took “honorable” men like Prescott Bush to bring illegal liquor into the country by the boat load. On Us Navy ships no less! Curtailing independent black wealth was the main catalyst in re-igniting so called “intergration”. Which quickly lead to the disbandment of “superior” instituions such as the “Negro League”.

How about the black Panther Party for Self Defense in the late 60’s early 70’s. Again, another attempt by black people to pull together to shake off the chains of oppresion. I’m sure you know what Hoover did to them. If not, I suggest you research it. Ironically, the free breakfast program so many economically challenged children benefit from was only adopted federally after the Black Panther party had initiated a similar program nation-wide. After the party was destroed by the FBI, then the government fronts like its their policy, even though studies on how it would benefit children had been taken world-wide since the 40’s. A little too late if you ask me.. I DON’T EVEN need to get into the government sponsored assasinations of our civil rights orginizers.

    (1) Don’t do drugs.. or do you mean, don’t do drugs that caucasians can’t realize a profitable return from? Oxycotin (Heroine), Ritalin (Cocaine), Tobacco (nicotine - downer) are fine becuase they are taxable cash cows. But, marijuana, an easliy grown weed; Cocaine which is the laymens Ritalin, and heroine (poppy) are all intolerable!?

    (2) Don’t over-eat..although you are forced into a life, again due to profiteering, of eating nutritonally deficient “preserved” foods that interact negatively towards melanin (the enzyme that basically differentiates dark skinned (black people) from light skinned (white people). These foods need to be preserved so as to maintain a longer shelf life, which equals more money for CHARLIE. And When Mr. Jones’ body finally would have given out, then he would have to go to Dr. CHARLIE to get prescribed drugs that most likely will ease some of the symptoms, all while slowly deteriorating another part of his structure.

Mr. Jones was clearly to me, exactly what the system I briefly described above expected.

You represent the ULTIMATE in arrogant and ignorant privilege. You’re no more spiritless than your forefathers who preached godliness from one side of their mouths, and gave orders to “hang’em” with the other.

The truth hurts Dave. that’s why reparations is and will, for as long as your people can hold out, be on the back burner. Its about the lies feed to all people world wide since the first Cuacasians found their way out of those, mountains in southern Russia to savagely plunder and all around *uck up the world. I’m done with my brief attempt at giving you a
    (tru-story) lesson.

  22. Nick Says:

I’m white. Which, here (its pretty much a racist site), means everything I say is either racist or a lie.

    So here goes.

The workable solution, that both sides fail to realize, is seperation.

If we seperate into individual countries of race, neither side will have any complaints. Blacks can’t whine about slavery and the past for ever, as we whities will be gone, and whites can’t complain about the black welfare state, because there won’t be any blacks around. Scary huh?

There could even be a neutral area for those dillusional enough to think that peaceful coexistance is feasible.

This would allow all races to be responsible for their actions and circumstances, without the race issue as an overall excuse for every aspect of their live’s failure.

Yeah its kinda racist and the supremist element of both sides (three? Hispanic?) wouldn’t have any axes to grind, but so what.

I think its pretty obvious that all of these cultures will never get along, so adapt to it.

Any replies? You gotta admit, it solves a lot of the problems put forth by both (three?) sides.

    Later - Nick

ps. I haven’t seen any Hispanic perspective here.

At least you’re thinking Nick. But Nick, come on. To reduce black peoples justified concerns and complaints down to whinning is a bold expresion of your ignorance, and white privlege. Unfortunately, you, like most “educated” Americans & Europeans, naively believe the liberal vs. conservative elitist view of the world. Its a slide-of-hand attempt at misdirection. You honestly believe that Europeans/ whites in this country or Europe for that matter have done or could do anything themselves. It is a racist fantasy to EVEN think that.

I’ll try to make this as brief as I can. Remember: They couldn’t even capture slaves themselves. They meddled in the internal affairs of African people to promote wars which resulted in captured POW’s being sold into slavery. Read the diaries of Columbus and other “adventures”. It was clear what was on their minds. Namely GOLD, and other so called “treasures”. Not dis-similar to what is going on now in Neo colonial Africa (diamonds & Uranium) & the Mid-East (oil & gas). How did the early “Americans” learn to grow crops? Who grow them? Who cooked the food? Who raised the children? Who REALLY bore the burden? Now take a look at my statement above about the government welfare programs that basically created a white middle class.

OK now, these seperate competing states are going to need trading partners. (You must think globally) No matter how you slice it, Africa is the richest continent in human & natural resources (aids not withstanding). The heart of black people would naturally bring Africans (who again, have the natural resources) and this new African-American state together in an economically beneficial companionship that the EUROPEAN UNION could not tolerate. Imagine if all those European & American companies had to go to African states as equal traders as appose to under the current economical slave profiterring system. That is why debt relief is a joke and why the need for AIDS drugs will keep African countries economically in debt to Europe & America. International free trade (the way the euro-amercian capitalist see it) depends on an economically debt strapped Africa to exploit. Side note - It will be interesting to see who benefits the most from Iraqi debt relief. The funny thing is that today, no one even bothers to continue the fantasy that Aids originated through cross contaminatioin with some damn monkey. Its well accepted now, though not reported in the media, that AIDS either started by a purposely vicious intent to exterminate the African population (for control of the resources) or by erroneous vaccinations that were not properly studied before being administered. Either way, why should Africans be in the position they are in now? Why should these people be in debt for these drugs, over a disease that was accidently or intentionally trust upon them?!

There are more people that PROUDLY trace their roots back to Africa than to Europe or even Arab Asia. There is absolutely NO way the current euro-american capitalist system would break from the skewed relationship it has with the world. History has proven that “certain” people think advancement and malicious exploitation of people and resourses go hand in hand. Black people world wide interdependent on each other is not what Euro-American power has in mind. So you’re dream is unlikely.

You see Nick, when it comes to HEART, if it were up to black farmers, they would cut away from the destructive capitalist system and get their crops directly to the people that need it, especially since world-wide, its their black & brown cousins that disproportionately make up those in need. THAT is why there are hardly any black farmers left in America or In Africa. The SYSTEM dictates that these lands should be corporately (white) farmed so as to protect a tightly controlled (white) tax base. Most produce & meat eaten in this country is processed, preserved, genetically altered & toxic crap. The reason isn’t to increase production. Its to increase shelf-life and therefore, PROFITS. Thats why, as a white man, chances are by the time you are 50; you will have a cancer of some sort, you will be impotent, if not already, and will be bald.

Imagine how much more stress you’d be under if your commander-in-chief had to bow in real respect to the leader of a “free” Niger or Uganda so as to get enough uranium to make enough WMD to protect you from your Arab cousins?

SEPERATE BUT EQUAL? ARE YOU SURE?

  24. Matt Says:

I have a question-if those cops weren’t white, would you hypocrites be screaming ‘racism’ so much?

I have another question-how come even majority black cities in American, and in Africa are hellholes, despite the fact they get all this money from the USA?

Yeah, whites are really ‘oppressive’, aren’t they? Who was it that freed blacks from slaves? White men. Who was it that gave blacks equal rights to vote, get a job, and so on? What? I can’t hear you? White people! Yes, thank you class.

Race card hustling blacks bite the hand that feeds. Why don’t you people start taking some responsibilty for your lives, work hard, save money and get rid of your anger and entitlement mentality. You don’t hear Lations or Asians griping about being oppressed.

I suggest that the liberals an angry blacks read these books:

    1. “Out Of America: A Black man Confronts Africa” by Keith Richbury

    2. “SCAM: How the black leadership exploits black America” by Jesse Lee Peterson.

What money are you speaking of exactly? What black cities in America? What places in Africa?

Yeah, whites are really “oppressive”, aren’t they? Who was it that freed blacks from slaves? White men. Who was it that gave blacks equal rights to vote, get a job, and so on? What? I can’t hear you? White people! Yes, thank you class.

White men also oppressed black people. Blacks got equal rights to vote about 40 years ago. Most black people would get a job if they weren’t discriminated against, it’s hard to get a job pass that fact.

Race card hustling blacks bite the hand that feeds. Why don’t you people start taking some responsibilty for your lives, work hard, save money and get rid of your anger and entitlement mentality. You don’t hear Lations or Asians griping about being oppressed.

Bite the hand that feeds? That’s simply the problem, if you feel your in a position to make that statement then you are dripping in your own “white privilege”. Hrmm seems to me you are quite incorrect, if we look at history and the simple fact that black people were slaves. It would seem to me they worked hard for hundred of years, As for the current state of affair. What money would you have black people save if they can’t get jobs?

You don’t hear Latinos and Asians gripping about being oppressed.

Correction, I don’t hear Asians gripping about being oppressed because they weren’t oppressed at anytime on the scale of black and latinos. Infact when they were oppressed, the families were later payed reparations.

I agree that black leadership exploits Black America, it gives people like you fire power until you have to speak about the actual issues and rationalize them. Then you start to realize exactly how silly you sound, not that it matters if you know or not.

People like me exist; and word for word, line for line I will break down your argument like childs play until the only thing left is truth.
